ORIGINAL 1818 – THE SWABIAN COSTUME BY KRÜGER
Württemberg is rich in historical costumes, which have been handed down valuable and high-quality handmade, partly over several generations. The new collection “Original 1818 – Die Schwabentracht” is based on this repertoire of forms. Together with the costume expert Wulf Wager, an alternative to the alpine dirndl and short Bavarian lederhosen was created here. Fast, authentic, extraordinary and affordable. This is “Original 1818 – Die Schwabentracht”. Just in time for the 200th anniversary of the Cannstatter Volksfest, “Original 1818 – Die Schwabentracht” presents two women’s costumes in midi length in different variants, each of which develops a different look due to differently colored aprons. The Baroque Cannstatt women’s costume served as a model. One variant has a red linen bodice and a green jacquard skirt, the other is all in blue. A white linen blouse perfects the traditional costume. The bodice hooks were originally reproduced after a 200-year-old hook.
